Pepsico Nutrition Manager, Communication Program Development Job

Nutrition Education is an integral part of PepsiCo Nutrition and works closely with R&D, communications and business units to design and execute nutrition education strategies that advance functional objectives. The Nutrition Manager, Communication Program Development role will be based in Purchase New York, although regular meetings internationally will be required. The focus of the role will be to raise stakeholder support and ownership of PepsiCo's Human Sustainability objectives specific to nutrition, focused on under nutrition initiatives. This role will enhance PepsiCo Nutrition's capabilities in nutrition activation and will enable the function to achieve strategic goals critical for relationship development and business success.
Job Accountabilities:
• Lead development and implementation of thought leadership program for PepsiCo Nutrition including, developing programs that effectively engage internal and external stakeholders including developing and publishing scientific white papers, tailoring messages for internal and external audiences (both local and global), and disseminating messages by managing multiple communication channels effectively.
• Create, identify and manage opportunities for PepsiCo to publicly communicate through relevant events and forums in line with PepsiCo nutrition objectives.
• Develop and implement effective communication programs w
ith internal stakeholders including executive sponsors, sr. leadership, team members and employees, and external stakeholders through partners/vendors and cross-functional teams.
• Manage development of communication material including identifying, writing and positioning timely and relevant information and identity/develop most appropriate mechanisms for best communication to multiple audiences.
• Ensure message integrity and consistency across all communications and experiences.
• Use measurement tools to effectively monitor communication program effectiveness.
Critical Competencies:
• Self-starter with excellent oral and very strong written communication skills.
• Strong team management skills, including ability to coordinate across different functions and offices virtually and the ability to work with diverse personality and working styles.
• Flexibility, with the ability to think creatively to identify innovative opportunities for nutrition and to use new channels to educate and respond to new audiences.
• Ability to effectively present complex issues, generate new ideas and work with others to express ideas clearly and succinctly.
• Strong personal leadership skills with project management ability - must be able to set and manage priorities while working on multiple, simultaneous projects.
• Positive learner • desire to gain and apply knowledge to new processes and products and proactively improve the how work is done and systems that support the work.
• Technical understanding of nutrition science principles specifically in under nutrition.
Requirements: Education and Experience Requirements:
• M.P.H. or Ph.D. in Nutritional Science with 5-7 years related experience
• Demonstrated expertise in human nutrition, public health concepts and product development.
• Proficient in providing thought leadership on both strategic and tactical aspects of projects.
• International experience particularly working to address nutritional deficiencies within underdeveloped countries.
• Experience and understanding of Base of the Pyramid business models.
• Leadership experience in the private, public or voluntary sectors, including managing communications and budgets.
• Demonstrated knowledge of communication program development and effective use of multiple communication channels.
• Established relationships (with NGOs and other key influencers) and knowledge of policy and/or public affairs issues - role.
• Empathy for specific issues facing vulnerable populations.
