Principal Engineer Job

The Principal Engineer in Equipment Development Engineering will contribute to the development and execution of new equipment technology platforms (specifically Fountain Dispensing, Frozen Equipment, Vending, and Coolers) targeted at preserving the quality of PepsiCo products while increasing incidents rate. This position will support the Senior Manager by providing technical expertise, specification, Design of test plans and work with Key suppliers to develop design concepts for growth program for Fountain and other Food Service Equipment with key suppliers to support premier accounts through Food Service.
Key Accountabilities:
- Actively manage multiple Equipment projects and assign priority as needed
- Develop schedule & communicate cross functionally on project details.
- Create/manage Timelines, Budgets, and Quality on assigned Projects.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Work closely with Product Development, Global Procurement, Operations and Marketing to ensure proper testing and effective deployment of technology.
- Research and identify new technologies for Equipment.
Requirements: - BS or Masters in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 4-6 years experience in Food Service Equipment, or Appliance industries
- Experience working in a Connect and Develop environment.
- Ability to support cross-functional teams and key customer presentations
- Analytical thinking: Ability to use statistical tools, lays emphasis on teamwork; strong communication and presentation skills
- Results driven individual
- Ability to develop business cases for Projects
- Ability to lead projects from concept phase to production
- Develop or revise new specification for new and existing platforms, with focus on total system performance and key sub-systems.
- Strong understanding of Fluid Flow and Thermodynamics.
- Utilizes NPD processes in managing Projects in a Stage Gate environment.
- Capable of statistically analyzing data/results. Ability to draw conclusions from the data and recommend a course of action.
- Sound skills in resolving complex problems. Experienced with DOE.
- Ability to conduct DFMEA's including risk assessment and mitigation plans.
- Self starter, take initiatives, willing to work under pressure
- Knowledge about sustainability for equipment
- Knowledge about refrigeration system and over all commercial refrigeration
