Senior Statistician Job

ROLE: Provide technical leadership, consulting support, experimental designs, predictive modeling, training and data analysis in the area of statistical science for PCNA, PI, and QTG.

Principal Accountabilities
Be seen as the internal expert in the area of statistical science, one who can broaden the application of statistical tools.
Influence the use of statistical tools across the organization to drive more efficient use of data and better decision making.
Leverage internal and external resources to identify, implement, and sustain new ways to mine, analyze and interpret data to better enable the organization to deliver against required business results.
Drive increased level of client self-sufficiency in the area of data analysis and interpretation.

Key Challenges
Experience in the use of statistical designs and analyses, hypothesis testing (ANOVA, multiple comparison tests, parametric and non-parametric), categorical data analysis, statistical process control, sampling plans, regression methods, multivariate techniques, measurements analysis, experimental and sample design, simulation and probability theory.
Proactively recommend designs that increase the effectiveness, productivity and success rate of product and manufacturing processes from early development through launch.
Collaboration with project leaders where statistical thinking and approaches can result in better decisions
Manage multiple projects with different client
groups and priorities.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Position requires extensive client interaction.
Proficient writing and presentation skills.
Strong influence management skills to impact decision making.
Effectively translate statistical concepts and issues to non-statistical audiences.

Critical Competencies
Strong statistical knowledge and experience in applying statistical methods to research, development, and operating environments.
Good understanding of packaged food and beverage product development and manufacturing supply chain.
Primary knowledge in quantitative skills.
Leverage methods and technologies developed in other industries for impact at Pepsi.
Communicate a business case for investment to senior executives within technical organizations.
Must be detail oriented with strong analytical and project management skills
Self-starter who is not content with the status quo, continuously seeking better ways to improve methodology with which to drive business results.

Requirements: Master's degree in Statistics or a related quantitative discipline (with significant course work in statistics).
Five (5) years experience in an R&D or academic environment.
Solid and demonstrable experience in quantitative and statistical analysis with a clear understanding of statistical and quantitative methods.
Working knowledge in SAS and R programming, JMP and MS Office applications.
Working knowledge and application throughout the product and process development process.
Six Sigma knowledge and problem solving skills desired
